Over 30 years ago, Bob Riseling began a yearly trip with Memphis College of Art. Inspired by the life and work of Walter Inglis Anderson, the school takes out a group of over 40 students, alumni, and faculty for a 10 day retreat. 
Camping primitively, yet communally, opens everyone to their raw form. Detaching from modern tech has its discomforts, but allows one to readjust, prioritize, and experience a different kind of truth than our daily lives.
For me, the trip has become a significant aspect of my understanding, my bonds to the world in all parts, voyeur and subject.
